“Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.” ~ Edgar Allan Poe
Recently, a friend asked me to give her my honest opinion as to whether I believe an affirmation could work in a specific situation that she is experiencing.
She said that she was feeling challenged by the desire to register for an event versus the reality of the funds that are currently in her bank account.
She went on to say that she was receiving encouragement from other people to register for the event and then say affirmations that the money she needs will manifest.
Since she knows that I do use affirmations in my life, she asked if I agreed with the advice she was receiving.
I emphatically told her ‘NO!’
I explained that there was a time in my life when I was in the exact same situation — 3x! It took me 3x to finally get the lesson.
I chose to take a series of trainings….despite the fact that I did not have funds to pay for the trainings, which each cost 1000s of dollars. The organizers of the trainings kept encouraging me to register any way and then ‘stay positive’ and ‘expect miracles to occur’. I was encouraged to put the registration fees on my credit card or beg and borrow the money from friends and then figure out later how to pay them back as a result of the information I would learn from the training.
So, I stayed positive — and I said affirmations — and I borrowed the money and my credit card reached the limit and I participated in the trainings (which did not provide the information of how to manifest money).
I enjoyed the trainings, yet nothing had changed in my ability to manifest money. Unless I count the fact that I had mastered how to beg and borrow money from my friends…which did not feel good to me.
Yet, one important change did occur…I realized that affirmations alone do not work.
I realized that affirmations are important because they do support me in keeping a positive attitude and lifting my spirits … which is essential in being able to manifest what I desire.
The key, though, to making affirmations work is to allow myself to first be in the reality of my situation…without making myself wrong. In other words, to acknowledge that I desire to register for a training and currently I may not have the funds to do so.
Once I accept where I am in relation to where I intend to be, I can then use Chi-To-Be! Energy Surge #3 — Tending To Our B-All Garden and recognize that I am in the seeding stage of achieving my goal to attract the funds I require.
And, just as if I was putting the seeds of a rose bush into the soil, I am putting the seeds of my goal into my imagination so that they can grow and bloom in their own natural way.
My role in the process is to continue to take ‘actions’ — not just say ‘affirmations’ — that will feed and nourish those seeds.
Which is why I say affirmation alone do not work.
Affirmations which inspire intentional activities do work!
And, as I continued to explore and discover, I received more inspirations…and I created my own training class…which I began teaching in 1998…and which actually does train people in how to become attraction magnets for all they desire. It is called the ‘Fastest Attraction Mastery Self Study Program’ and more details are provided below so you can to check it out.
I invite you to take a moment now to meditate on whether you feel affirmations alone are enough to achieve your goals.
