“Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.”
~ Kurt Vonnegut
Ever had one of those experiences where you are so frustrated with someone or something that you are beside yourself?
I sure have!
In those moments, I felt as if the world may never be right again.
Of course, given enough time, I eventually got over the situation and moved on.
One day, I began meditating on how I could move from frustration to joy in those situations as fast as possible.
And, I received an inspiration that worked perfectly instantly…and works every single time I choose to use it.
Step 1:
Notice that I am frustrated and/or angry…rather than attempting to stuff it down and ignore the feeling.
Step 2:
Choose to bring my emotions to a neutral place to gain clarity. Breathe in and out 3x slowly to calm my feelings.
Step 3:
Remember that Universe is always inspiring me forward (rather than conspiring against me). The situation is helping me to become clearer about what I want and what I don’t want to have in my life from this point forward.
Step 4:
Remember to look ahead and envision my ultimate goal as already fulfilled as a result of this situation occurring.
Step 5:
Bless the situation and choose to respond to the person and/or situation according to what will move me closer to the achievement of my goal.
I look forward to hearing your experience of using this Process to transform frustration into joy.
