“We need to know how we are feeling. Mindfully acknowledging our feelings serves as an ’emotional thermostat’ that recalibrates our decision making. It’s not that we can’t be anxious, it’s that we need to acknowledge to ourselves that we are.” ~ Noreena Hertz
There is a real possibility that I AM making the most powerful decisions as quickly as a decision is required.
Dozens, if not hundreds, of decisions small and large are required to be made throughout each day. Which is the reason why many people do not move forward in life with velocity and ease.
They are bogged down with confusion and anxiety each and every time a decision must be made. They weigh the pros and cons, they ask other people what they should do, and then they decide to take more time to consider their choice to make sure it is the ‘right’ decision.
That is what I used to do, too.
What changed for me was an inspiration I received one day that every choice is made either from love or fear. It’s just that simple!
With that awareness, I discovered an easy process for how to make the ‘best’ choice in every situation…and it takes less than 5 minutes!
I call my process for quick and accurate decision-making – ‘The Solution Process’.
The Solution Process began the day I realized that I often have 4 different perspectives when making a choice or decision…
1. To make the decision based on fear for not doing something.
2. To make the decision based on love for not doing something.
3. To make the decision based on fear for doing it.
4. To make the decision based on love for doing it.
For example, I may have a decision to make whether or not to take a class.
I can make the decision based on my fears related to taking or not taking the class.
Or, I can make the decision based on love — what would be the most loving choice for me related to taking or not taking the class?
Looking at all four perspectives — and then identifying the answer that produces the most powerful feeling within me — is the way that I know I have made the most ‘right’ decision for me in the moment.
People often ask me if love is always the answer?
Believe it or not, the answer to that question is ‘No!’
Sometimes I receive more powerful feelings when I am looking at my fears about doing or not doing something.
What I have come to learn is that acknowledging the powerful feelings of fear can be a very loving way to take care of myself.
We can all chose to use the power within us to move forward towards our goals!
If fear is the most powerful feeling — I trust it. If love is the most powerful feeling — I trust it.
I make my decision from the power of my feelings and move forward towards the fulfillment of my goals!
