HOW MUCH INTENTION IS IN THE GOAL?
The extent to which a goal can be fulfilled is dependent upon the amount of intention that is dedicated towards the achievement of that goal.
An “intention” – in my world — is the motivation and the commitment to achieve the goal. Intention is the power directed into the fulfillment of the goal.
Intentions are the ‘reasons’ we schedule all the planned conversations, activities, meetings, and projects we create to achieve each one of the goals on our way to achieving our B-All™.
And, all those planned conversations, activities, meetings, and projects will now be known as intentional activities and each will have a ‘by when’ date attached to it!
A ‘by when’ date is the date by which you want to complete this intentional activity so that the goal can be achieved as quickly as possible – so that your ultimate B-All is fulfilled with velocity and ease!
Despite their importance, I have found that intentional activities are often forgotten when people set their goals.
Intentional Activities fall into two categories — the physical actions we take, as well as the energetic actions.
A physical action is a tangible activity towards the goal that can be seen, measured, and/or touched.
An energetic action is consciously holding the goal in mind, such as meditating and visualizing the goal being fulfilled for a specific amount of time each day.
People will say, “I have a goal.” And really what they have is a wish, or a desire, or a hope.
Here’s why…
Without also consciously identifying and scheduling all the intentional activities (the dedication of energy) involved in actively achieving the goal — there is no pro-active power to make it happen.
As such, it is simply a hope, a wish, a desire that something miraculous will occur and the goal will be achieved all by itself.
Of course, every once in a while, such miracles do occur.
You have probably heard the saying, “where attention goes, energy flows.”
So, if we focus our attention on planning our intentional activities, we are more likely to achieve our goals.
