Here’s your 4th Weekly Chi-Lift!…
Did you know that the word ‘try’ is a chi-drainer … rather than a chi-lifter?
Just this morning, I received a message from someone saying that they are ‘trying hard’ to take an action towards their B-All.
By it’s very nature and definition, it requires hard work to ‘try’ anything….thus the energy of ‘try’ is draining.
Why is this true?
Because, as someone wise informed me years ago, the essence of the definition of the word try is ‘looking good while failing.’
We were taught as children that we would be rewarded if we simply ‘tried’ to eat our vegetables, or ride a bike, or take a nap, or spell the word, etc.
Those asking us to ‘try’ did not really expect us to be successful. They just wanted us to take an action toward the goal…and if, we did, they would be pleased.
Conversely, if we did not at least ‘try.’ we would be punished or they would be disappointed.
‘Trying’ then came associated with doing something for others … rather than for ourselves.
Was this true in your life?
If so, then you are like me…you might feel a sense of dread, fear and/or concern whenever you begin a new project or experience anything for the first time.
For most of my life, I would freeze when given a new assignment at work or when presented with a new opportunity. It took me a long time to realize that underlying my fear was that I would not accomplish the project to the satisfaction of others.
It wasn’t until I heard Zig Ziglar say, ‘Anything worth doing, is worth doing … poorly … the first time!’
As I explain in Chapter 1 of ‘Chi-To-Be! Achieving Your Ultimate B-All’, this statement changed my life.
I began giving myself permission to stop ‘trying’ and start ‘experimenting,’ ‘playing,’ ‘solving,’ ‘discovering,’ and ‘ sampling’ new experiences…for and with me!
From those chi-lifting energies, I began accomplishing much more in a shorter amount of time with much more joy!!
And, this is why Chi-To-Be! Energy Surge #2 is ‘Do It Your Way…Any Way You Can!’
If you are ready to stop ‘trying’ and start accomplishing and achieving with more joy, I invite you to…
